The Statue located in Ranchi Town and it is popularly known as Albert Ekka Chowk. Albert Ekka was born to Mariam and Julius Ekka on 27th Dec 1942 in village Zari of (now) Gumla District. He was initially enrolled in BIHAR Regiment but later moved to the newly raised 32nd Guards Bn in Jan 1968 along with his 'C' Company of 7 BIHAR which was allotted to the newly raised Guards Bn. In Apr 1971, 32nd was re-designated as 14th Bn of The Brigade of Guards.For displaying the most conspicuous valour and for his supreme sacrifice, he was posthumously awarded the highest war time Gallantry Award of the land ie, 'Param Vir Chakra' during Operation 'Cactus Lily' during the Indo-Pak War of 1971.
